Job Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor Engineer will manage all aspects of the project’s costs, including estimating, budgeting, and cost control. This role involves preparing and analyzing cost reports and providing financial advice to project stakeholders to ensure the financial efficiency of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and financial targets are met.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control project expenditures, identifying and addressing any variances from the budget.
- Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and any areas of concern.
- Financial Advice: Provide financial advice to project managers and stakeholders to support decision-making and ensure financial efficiency.
- Contract Management: Assist in the preparation and management of contracts, ensuring all financial aspects are covered.
- Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project budgets.
- Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all cost-related activities, including estimates, budgets, and expenditures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all financial aspects of the project are managed effectively.
Qualifications:
Experience: Over 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management within the construction industry.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., RICS, MRICS) are preferred.
Skills:
- Proven track record of managing project costs for large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control principles.
